The Basics of Performance and Image Enhancing Drugs (PIEDs) in Recreational Sports is a free online course originally developed by the Dopinglinkki organisation in Finland and now being adapted for use in other European countries. The course contains reflection tasks and videos to help you become more informed about doping. After completing this course, you will know more about what PIEDs mean as a phenomenon and you can take an online test to self-assess your knowledge.

This online course is intended to increase healthcare providers’ awareness of the special characteristics of patients who use Performance and Image Enhancing Drugs (PIEDs) in recreational sports and to improve their professional skills for encountering such patients in clinical work. The online course has been produced by the Dopinglinkki service administered by the A-Clinic Foundation.
As part of the DELTS (i.e. Doping E-learning tools) project, Dopinglinkki in collaboration with several partners, including the University of New South Wales (UNSW), is evaluating the effectiveness of several PIED e-learning programs focussed on recreational PIED users (e.g. fitness trainers).
